The Panasonic 7-14 is Bigger Than Your Average Micro Four Thirds Camera Lens

If you value the portability of your micro four thirds camera then the Panasonic 7-14 is going to be quite a bulky addition to your setup. For a wide angle lens it is still ultra compact but compared to other “pancake” lenses commonly found on these cameras this one stands out a bit. It is a great lens however and while probably priced out of the reach of amateurs is capable of producing stunning results. My main concern apart from the high price would be the front element, which protrudes enough to make using screw in filters impossible. I hate to keep mentioning the price but for such a sizable investment, I would have liked to be able to protect the glass without having to keep the lens cap on at all times. Apart from that I love this lens and it is built surprisingly sturdy. I expected great things from this lens and it delivered it in spades.
